Kelly Knight
Counsel, ReedSmith
Kelly regularly advises sovereigns and supranational organisations on bespoke financings across a range of humanitarian projects. Her humanitarian financing experience includes ground-breaking impact investing and social impact finance deals, such as the development of an innovative financing solution for the continued production of a key component in a malaria vaccine, assisting with the implementation of the IFRC’s DREF insurance product which leverages the reinsurance market to maximise donations, and advising the International Finance Facility for Education (IFFed) on its ‘grants and guarantees’ financing product which ‘multiplies’ donor resources to provide more affordable funding to low and middle income countries for investment in children’s education. Kelly is a 2022 winner of the Lynne Freeman Rising Star Award and was short-listed for Women & Diversity in Law Returner of the Year 2023.
